Terrorism is the act, which aims to create panic among ordinary people by all sorts of violent means. The term terrorism was first coined in 1970s. Terrorism basically threatens humanity. It takes the lives of innocent people for some reasons and problems of a group of people. Terrorism has now become a worldwide problem. We can see terrorism not only in society, it also has intruded into politics. Terrorism is the calculated use of violence to generate fear and thereby to achieve political goals. Some social scientists refer to terrorism as 'the weapon of the weakest'. The greatest evidence of terrorist attack is the World Trade Centre attack. In India also, we have seen furious terrorist attacks. Pulwama attack is such a proof. 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Pulwama of Kashmir by militants. Since the 20th century, ideology and political opportunism have led a number of countries to engage in international terrorism, often under the guise of supporting movements of national liberation and now this is spreading among the common people. Some agencies are trying to stop such terrorism. Some such agencies are Anti-Terrorism Squad, Research and Analysis Wing etc. But only these agencies will not be able to completely erase terrorism from the earth unless common people understand the harm of this heinous act.
